Adult Faith Formation St. Bernadette offers regular various series for study and deepening our spiritual formation. Lively discussions and sharing our experiences help us to engage new material in fresh ways. Videos, books, Scripture, the Catechism, Church documents, ligurgical texts and more are all included in different formats and schedules to meet the needs of all parishioners. Bible Study This ministry meets weekly to study and discuss the Sacred Scriptures according to different popular resources. Morning and evening sessions at St. Joseph are available to accommodate each person's schedule. Contact person is Dave Seifert. Catholic Moms Group This is a ministry for mothers to enjoy fellowship and discuss the common challenges we face raising our children in a modern world while living our Catholic Faith. We meet together one evening per month. Children are welcome and we have light refreshments. Contact person is Ria Kerns.
Church Decoration This group beautifies the parish church buildings. Work includes flower arranging, cleaning and seasonal work. Contact persons are Karen Henry (St. Bernadette) and Jane Campbell, Rita Fisher and Becky Sullivan (St. Joseph).
Daughters of the King This is a ministry where sisters in Christ at all stages of life can come together to encourage, uplift and support one another along their faith journey. Quarterly events will be held along with secret sister opportunities with a Lent and Advent series. Contact is Sarah Borah.
Donut Sundays Seasonal feasts and celebrations occasion an opportunity for parishioners to gather after Mass and share social time with one another in the parish hall at St. Bernadette. Contact person is Kara Tencza.
First Sunday Breakfast (St. Joseph) Come and enjoy a free breakfast after the 8:00 am Mass at St. Joseph on the first Sunday of every month. This breakfast helps to strengthen the bonds of our community and grow our fellowship together. Contact person is Ray Hayes (St. Joseph).
The Holy Rosary This ministry gathers to pray the Rosary on Sundays, 30 minutes before Mass, Mondays at 7:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette church, and following the weekday Masses at St. Joseph. Everyone is welcome to come and pray with us! Contact persons are Rita Merk (St. Bernadette) and Bob Krile (St. Joseph). Ladies Faith Sharing Group This program for women brings us to a deeper personal relationship with Jesus by offering personal study and small group discussion based on the teachings of Christ and the Church. Contact person is Linda Showman.
Marian Society This ministry meets monthly to promote prayer and Eucharistic Adoration, and regularly lead the Holy Rosary before Mass on Sundays. We serve as an ecumenical outreach to the larger community by our presence in a booth at the Fairfield County Fair. Contact person is Rita Merk.
Martha's Helpers This ministry assists the parish in preparing/providing food for various parish functions and occasionally we aid with serving, kitchen prep work, cleanup after parish events. Helpers are called upon as the events and needs arise, and they can volunteer when they are able. Each volunteer will be placed on a list and each will be contacted as help is needed. Contact person is Kara Tencza. Men of St. Joseph This group meets regularly on Saturday mornings at 8:00 a.m. at Geiger Hall at St. Joseph. They pray together, share in fraternity, grow in their spiritual lives together, and enrich their faith with readings, studies, and discussion. Every chance they get, they support the other acitivities in the parish. All men are encouraged to join us! Contact person is Chick Dillon. Pro Vita (Pro-life Ministry) This ministry supports the all pro-life activities from womb to tomb. They support the Secretarit of Pro-life Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities that the US Bishops have set forth as elements necessary for authentic Catholic pro-life efforts in the United States: prayer, public information and education, public policy, and pastoral care (https://www.usccb.org/prolife). Some of the local pro-life activities we support are the Pregnancy Decision Health Center (https://www.pdhc.org/), the Walk for Life, the National Life Chain, the Ohio March for Life, the National March for Life, Baby Showers for Life, Bottoms Up diaper donations, Baby Bottles Campaign, Fisher Catholic Irish for Life Club, and 40 Days for Life. We have combined efforts with St. Mary Pro-life Ministry and will begin meeting again in January 2024. Contact persons are Daphne Stewart and Cindy Aiello.
Scripture Sharing Group This ministry meets each week in the Mary Goods Center on Tuesdays from 10:00 - 11:00 am to pray with Scripture. They use the following Sunday readings for their discussion. No prior experience or lon-term committment is necessary. Contact person is Donna Menigat.
Spiritual Motherhood Sodality Our group prays for vocations on Mondays at 7:30 pm at St. Bernadette in the church in support our priests, seminarians and religious. Please join us! Contact person is Julie Stalford. Totus Tuus Summer Program Each summer we offer a week of exciting activites and spiritual formation for young children in our parish (and beyond).
