PSR Classes - Kindergarten to 8th Grade PSR classes are offered on Sunday mornings from 8:45 am to 9:45 am, September - May.
St. Bernadette Parish School of Religion (PSR) St. Bernadette Parish School of Religion (PSR) program provides religious instruction (known as catechesis), formation and sacramental preparation to children attending public or non-Catholic private schools. Our goal as a faith formation community is to foster an environment for our students that teaches them about the Catholic faith, the important story of Christ, and how He impacts our everyday lives. Faith formation begins in the home. This year, our program will transition from a traditional PSR program to a more family-centered program for the 2024-2025 school year. This approach will provide for greater involvement of parents in their children’s faith formation by combining traditional classes with Family Faith education. Families will be invited to develop a deeper understanding of our faith with their children, with time for parents and children to learn together. Parent sessions focusing on the Sacraments, liturgical living and other topics will be offered throughout the year as well as three Family Faith Formation Sundays which will include a lunch and family-centered lessons and activities. Parent's Note: Please refer to the syllabus for each grade to the left of this page. Sacramental Preparation class Sacramental preparation classes are for second grade students preparing for First Holy Communion and for eighth grade students preparing for Confirmation. All children preparing for sacraments are required to have at least two consecutive years of sacramental preparation prior to receiving their sacrament. All eighth-grade students (including those attending Catholic schools) are required to attend classes. PSR for Children with Special Needs A Special Needs class for children is available upon request. A variety of materials and resources are included, and accommodations are made for the students as needed. Please contact the PSR office if you would like more information. Volunteer As always, our program would not be possible without the assistance of many volunteers. All materials and training are provided. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the PSR office at [email protected] you have questions.

Parent Classes Raising children in today's society is hard. Parents are invited to come to their own "PSR Class" on Sundays to gather and learn about different aspects of our Catholic faith and how to relate these topics to our everyday life with our children. Parents are the primary catechists in their children's life. However, it is hard to pour into your children with an empty cup. Come join us to fill your own cup so that you feel confident and capable of handing on the faith to your children.
